Learning coding is not only about understanding the programming language being used, but also developing important computational thinking skills, which are useful for problem solving across many disciplinary areas. In this course, students will learn basic programming skills by creating interactive storybooks, animations, and games with Scratch, Microsoft Kodu and Python, which is a block-based visual programming language for anyone new to coding

Meet the Tech Entrepreneur
Priscilla Okechukwu
C.E.O Pixaweb Technologies (SL) Ltd.
Priscilla Okechukwu is a social and Tech entrepreneur with leadership skills, who creates values and provides solutions to problems in her community through the use of technology and digital skills. She also runs Start2Launch an initiative that trains and empower female startups and Women in Tech & Business to becoming entrepreneurs. YouCodeAfrica an Initiative that organizes coding Camp for Women, where they learn how to write Codes, do animations and develop programs and also raising startups amongst them to becoming entrepreneurs- from incubation to mentoring stage.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. A B.Sc. Computer Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. She is married with 5 kids, a mother and an entrepreneur.
An IT Professional with over 18 years of experience in Software Engineering and Education Technology. A Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), a UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) trained Business Counselor, equipped with the knowledge to selecting startups with feasible project/business ideas and a DESIGN THINKING EXPERT for creativity, innovation and Business Solution.

Programming with Scratch
Scratch is a basic coding language that uses ‘building block’ style coding to create animated stories, interactive games, simulations, and beautiful artwork. In using Scratch, learners will be introduced to basic coding concepts and develop their computational thinking skills while bringing their own ideas to life. In this series, the basics of Scratch will be introduced to provide learners with the foundational skills required to begin creating in Scratch.
Microsofoft Kodu
Kodu Game Lab is a 3D game development environment that is designed to teach kids basic programming principles. Kodu allows creators to build the world’s terrain, populate it with characters and props, and then program their behaviors and games rules in a bespoke visual programming language.
